About This Project

Director Valeriya Golovina asked me to design a film poster for her new documentary, “Mawhialeo Ote Alowha” which means “Our Love” in Tokelauan. The story tells of a couple, Mel and Avito, who left the comfort of their island home, Tokelau, to migrate to New Zealand in search of a better opportunity for their son.

The film made it to the Official Selection of the 40th Hawai’i International Film Festival and Pollywood – Pasifika 2020, North Dakota Human Rights Festival 2021, Canberra Short Film Festival 2021 and the Rabat International Author Film Festival 2021, among others.
